QuickList MP3 (QL) is an MP3 playlist program that plays MP3s using Quicktime. I wrote it because I felt like it and I thought it would be a nice program to have.

Better MP3 recognition. QL no longer needs specific file types, if Quicktime recognises the file then it will work in QL (that means you can use QL to play the audio track of any files that Quicktime supports, including movies).
Now when you control-click the button, a new little window opens that lets you set the volume (independant of the system volume), and change the position within the current song.
Command-clicking now pauses and resumes the current song.
The current song and position within that song are saved when you quit, and the song is resumed in-progress the next time you load QL.
To change the direction of the timer, you now click it while it is being displayed.
Shift-clicking brings up a new menu that allows you to clear the playlist, stop playback, or quit ML.
Command-clicking individual items in the playlist menu will now remove them from the playlist.
How Do I Use it?
To add MP3s to the playlist:
Select the MP3(s) or the folder(s) of MP3s that you want in QL's playlist, drag them on top of the button that says "MP3" and let go of the mouse. The new MP3(s) will be added to the bottom of the playlist. If you do this while holding down the Option key on your keyboard, the new MP3(s) that you drop onto the button will completely replace the MP3(s) that were previously in the list.
To remove an MP3 from the playlist:
Click the button that says "MP3". This will display a drop down menu of all the songs in the playlist. After this menu is displayed, hold down teh command key and click the song you want to remove from the list. If you remove the song you are currently listening to, playback will stop.
To clear the playlist:
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click the button that says "MP3". A new menu will pop up. Select "Clear Playlist" from that menu.
To play an MP3:
Click the button that says "MP3". This will display a drop down menu of all the songs in the playlist. Simply select the one you want to listen to and it will begin playing. Once it is done, it automatically starts playing the next song in the list, and loops back to the first song when the last one is done.
To pause/resume playback:
Press and hold down the Apple (command) key and click the button that says "MP3" to pause the current song from playing, or resume it if it was already paused.
To stop playback:
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click the button that says "MP3". A new menu will pop up. Select "Stop Playback" from that menu.
To show/hide the timer:
Press and hold the Option key and click the button that says "MP3" to show the timer if it is hidden, or to hide the timer if it is being shown.
To toggle counting down/up:
Simply display the timer, then click it to make it count up if it was counting down, or to make it count down if it was counting up.
To display the volume/position indicators:
Hold down the Control key on your keyboard and click the button that says "MP3" to display the control window. The new window has two indicators on it, the slider on the left is the volume control, and the progress bar on the right is the position indicator (you can click it to change the current position in the song).
To move the player around:
In the file menu, select "Preferences…". You may select the corner you want the player to be in and then close the preferences window.
To quit without switching into the application:
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click the button that says "MP3". A new menu will pop up. Select "Quit" from that menu.
Notes
If the player encounters a file in it's playlist that it can't find or read anymore, then it will beep and stop playing. Usually this means the file has been moved or renamed since it was added to QL's playlist.
If you try to see the playlist while you are actually inside the QL application, the popup menu will annoyingly release itself after a second or so every time. Once you switch out of it into the finder or another application, the playlist will work correctly again (and since it's a globally floating player it shouldn't matter). I don't know how to fix that. Take it like a man.
Adding lots of files to the playlist can take a long time, and may freeze up your computer temporarily. As long as your hard drive is working, QL hasn't crashed.
